Playa del Carmen has everything you could want for a beach side holiday, a really pretty place to spend time with the oppertunity to explore of Mexico's inland areas if you wish,and thats what bi intend to do with a visit to one of the new wonders of the world aveled at all this year, as any future travel looks unlikely until next year at the earliest. Even when it does become possible to travel, the experience will not be what we have become accustomed too. That said, i do not intend any minor restrictions to stop me from carrying on with what i enjoy doing, if at all possible. So 2021 cannot come along fast enough for me.
Having said that i am finally getting around to posting more of my adventures, earlier this year. First up is a couple of days in Mexico, the Yucatan peninsular to be more precise.
Our first port of call is Cozumel.
Cozumel is an island and municipality in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, opposite the popular destination of Playa del Carmen. Its a brief 5-minute walk will get you from the port’s mall to the downtown square. Once at the downtown square or El Zocalo/town plaza you will find a raised area with a gazebo on it. The gazebo is surrounded by a gorgeous flower garden. and you can enjoy calm peaceful moments away from the hustle and bustle there.
The island is separated from the Mexican mainland by the Cozumel Channel, which is a 45 minute ride by hydrofoil ferry to Playa del Carmen. The journey across the channel can be a bit rough at the best of times, so poor sailors beware.
When you arrive at Playa del Carmen you are struck by the beautiful beaches and waterside restaurants that flank the ferry drop off point.
